A knowledgeable step-on guide gives the 911 about Pawnee City, named for the Pawnee Indians who crossed the country many years ago. The green rolling hills make this picturesque spot one of the most spellbinding in the Midwest. Welcome to Pawnee City – the only Pawnee City in the USA!

Known for its eclectic collection of toys, the Pedal Clinic boasts hundreds of antique toys including more than 450 restored pedal cars and trucks and tractors. In addition, the museum, which is housed in an old brick church, houses dolls, cookie jars, salt and pepper shakers, and even some adult-sized antique autos. Don’t miss the John Deere room, kerosene lamp collection, and toy airplanes.

Our next stop is the Pawnee City History Museum with its many out-buildings: the Cracker Box School, general store, and a log cabin. The Beyreis Building is home to a tailwind airplane.

Because of the numerous Amish families living in the Pawnee City area, this is known as Amish Country. Lunch is on us today!

All aboard for a spin in an Amish buggy and then let’s see where the grass-fed buffalo roam. These majestic beasts are raised on a farmstead which has been in the family for more than 115 years.
